In most cases, hydroseeding can be accomplished in a fraction of the time and cost of traditional seeding. The seed, mulch, and fertilizer are carefully blended into a slurry mixture in a specially designed mixing tank. Once mixed, the slurry is pumped through a hose to the application area. This one-step process eliminates many of the costly steps inherent in manual seeding. The key to successful hydroseeding is having good germination rates to achieve maximum plant growth and plant density. A high-quality seed mix is used which consists of turf-type grasses and legumes that produce high germination rates and healthy, dense stands of grass or legumes.
